Flint wins rematch, defeats Detroit 88-80
Detroit, MI- The Flint Monarchs won this rematch game by defeating the Detroit Queens 88-80. Sparkle Taylor led all scorers with 32 points and eight rebounds, Crystal Bradford scored 12 points, Asia Boyd and Rachel Hollivay each posted 10 points.
“This was a tough game because Detroit is a very good and physical team, I am happy to pick up a win on the road,” said Drey Wynn, Acting Head Coach and General Manager.
The Detroit Queens was led by Micaela Kelly with 21 points and Tinara Moore scored 18 points.
This weekend Flint (2-5, 6-5) will travel to Missouri to take on the Surge (4-3, 5-4) at 8:05 p.m. (Central Standard Time) on Saturday July 30, 2022, at Washington University Athletics in St. Louis, MO.
Game notes: Flint scored 46 points in the paint, had 13 fast break points, there were 15 lead changes, 8 times the game was tied and the biggest deficit Flint faced was 11 points.
